Description
SquareTrade © AP6.0 A. LANGE & SOHNE POUR LE MERITE TOURBILLON 18K A. Lange & Sohne manufactures watches of the very highest quality, which is easy to say, but when you examine one it is equally obvious to seasoned collectors and neophytes alike, that they are holding an object which has been masterfully crafted. The "fit and finish" is without peer. Lange & Sohne's designs are decidedly Teutonic and the movement (completely assembled, finished and decorated by hand) is a true object of beauty. The Pour le Merite Tourbillon is Lange & Sohne's first tourbillon, which was produced in only 150 pieces in 18k gold. Lange & Sohne prides itself on both its long heritage as Germany's best watch brand and its technological mastery of watchmaking. So, the esteemed German watchmakers decided to use a fusee and chain assembly to optimize the rate of accuracy of the watch. Attached to the going train, the fusee and chain work to equalize the distribution of the watch's energy. The Pour le Merite is the first time the fusee and chain are used in a wristwatch and it can be viewed through the display back. To make this limited edition timepiece even more technically impressive, Lange also implements the one minute tourbillon into this amazing movement. Case is 18k yellow gold and is 38.5mm in diameter by 10mm thick. Sapphire front and display back crystals. The Lange & Sohne watch case is beautiful in its simplicity and, as I mentioned, the fit and finish is without equal. Dial is white with printed arabic numerals and minutes chapter. There is a power reserve display sub dial and constant seconds sub dial. The one minute tourbillon is visible through the dial cut-away. Movement is the extremely impressive A. Lange & Sohne Caliber L. 902.0 with 29 jewels and two diamond endstones (in the tourbillon assembly). The movement is completely hand assembled, hand finished and hand decorated. The movement features a ¾ plate, which is a hallmark of Dresden watch making. The clasp is an 18k yellow gold Lange deployant clasp. The A. Lange & Sohne Pour le Merite is a collection centerpiece level watch. This watch is indiscernible from new with box and papers.
