In this Perpetual Calendar iteration this is Jaeger-LeCoultre Reference: QC146.34.4A, and it is absolutely incredible…!!This Master Perpetual wears JLC’s radiant medium-Pewter dial, and is further dramatized with eight hands, and four sub dials. It’s the hands, however, that deserve special attention at this time.The hour and minute hands are done in Dauphine, and divided in half along their Super Luminova ridge with a highly-polished finish on one side, and a frosted finish on the other. This split finish of the hands allows easy reading in situations of bright, or off-angle lighting…those boys from Richemont are clever, huh…?!For Perpetual Calendar functions the three northern sub dials each sport a White-Gold hand in dagger form. These three pointers of Date, Month and Day have been tip-painted in blue enamel, making a striking contrast against the dual-tier sub dials done in machined Silver…Sweet…!The hands for military time (six-o’clock sub dial), and for the alarm (center hub) are also White Gold, but have been dipped in white enamel, then their tips have been enameled red. The Alarm hand is Delta red, while the 24-hour hand is Arrow red…Cool…!Finalization of manos is seen in the impossibly slender White Gold sweep-second hand. This smoothly rotating spindle further balances itself with its pendulum shaped in rectangle.The classically inspired Moon Phase window at six o’clock is the largest of the two dial apertures, and cut in traditional scalloped trim. The remaining dial window indicates the current year in two significant digits. This is seen inside the twelve o’clock sub dial…Very Nice…!Eight markers of White Gold are seen as elongated pyramids, while the remaining four quadrants are filled with a small dollops of Super Luminova.
