This watch was taken to a booth that specializes in pocket watches to get some information on this item. We were advised that this watch is an 1873 London pocket watch based on its date mark. The marking is “G.A.P” with a crown, S, shield & 18 below it (can be seen in pic). The inside of the watch is marked “H Eley. Boston. 97017, with an inch parenthesis near the middle of the 7.” The diameter of this watch is approx 1 1/2." The pocket watch comes with the size 5 pocket watch key that came with it as well as purple velour bag. This watch has been wound up & works wonderfully. This item is also in excellent condition, there are only slight surface scrapes due to use. There is also some areas on the numbers that the black ink has come off (can be seen in pic).
