Large, almost 6 cms in diameter, excluding the crown & pendant. Silver with design & hallmarks on the inside of the back cover. The movement is skeletonized & exquisitely engraved. Heavily jeweled. There is a glass dust cover with beautifully engraved silver rim & there are small round openings in the glass to wind the watch & move the hands. KW and KS. It is fascinating to see the MOCK pendulum go back & forth when looking at the face of the watch. The dial is either painted or enamelled with a bird, urn, flowers, leaves, etc...The colors are  sharp and bright. The watch obviously has been treated with care from the beginning of times and has been sitting in my collection untouched for 25 years. Even the stem is hallmarked. Pushing on the top springs the back open. Works & keeps good time. But one has to remember that he or she is dealing with a 150 years old item. This is an old mechanical marvel . I ORIGINALLY DESCRIBED THE WATCH AS A DUPLEX ESCAPEMENT.  A KNOWLEDGEABLE  EBAYER SENT ME AN E-MAIL INFORMING ME THAT THE WATCH WAS A LEVER. I HAD ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A DUPLEX. UPON CLOSE EXAMINATION I REALIZED THAT IT WAS A DETACHED LEVER ESCAPEMENT. MY THANKS TO THE ASTUTE E-MAILER AND MY APOLOGIES TO FELLOW COLLECTORS.
