Early VERGE Pocket Watch WD BAKER HORSHAM London 1871 Start Price GBP 75.00 Current Price GBP 151.00 Time Left - Bid Count 8 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, September 01, 2008 End Time Monday, September 08, 2008 Location Up North See more about 'Early VERGE Pocket Watch WD BAKER HORSHAM London 1871' Description                 Early VERGE Pocket Watch WD BAKER HORSHAM London 1871 Description A pair cased pocket watch which as you can see is MISSING  the outer pair case. the case you see is sterling silver hallmarked LONDON 1871 ... with makers initials in it I.W.G. The glass is not a bullnose.. its normal domed type. the DIAL has just had a small amount broken off the edge of it...when I veiwed this watch in a recent auction it was fine.. the day I won it and picked it up the dial was broken.. thats ANNOYING as hell..not only for me but the next purchaser.So this bit of enamel will glue back on and there will be a slight nibble at both ends.. it also has a few nibbles at 5 - 6 o'clock as well.Roman numerals and gold hands. the movement hinges out of the front as I'm sure most of you will know. The movement is signed W.D. BAKER - HORSHAM numbered 105286 .. it has a nice pierced balance cock ..the Winding shaft has abit of rust and verdi-gris around it. The chain is attached but its not winding as its all seized up. I dont want to break it. The balance wheel & staff look to be in OK working condition.. so a good service should see this watch ticking happily once again.It is 44mm dia glass x 46mm dia case x 20mm deep and to the suspension loop its 7cm.    As with all my wristwatches & pocket watches I would recommend a service even if only to give them a good oil as the watches I buy come from live auction deceased estates and will never have been wound in years.
