Up for your consideration is a fine vintage 12s Hamilton "920" 23j high grade pocket watch, circa 1920. 920 23j movement wrapped in a marked Hamilton solid 14k gold case. Just serviced ~ No Reserve! Very nice extra heavy plain 14k yellow gold case. Case weighs 25.5 dwt. (without movement & crystal). With gold at $800 a ounce, this case would scrap for $530.00 alone. But let's not let that happen to this beautiful timepiece! These 920's were sold cased only from the factory... I purchased this one from the grand-daughter of the original owner. Dial is snowy white with simple Arabic numerals. What a great looking dial! Close-up of this handsome dial.  There is a fracture at the 54 minute marker & a hairline between the 2 & 3 hour markers. I probably have another dial for this watch, but it is all original & I wanted to keep it that way. Hard to find plumb hands are near mint. The case is in excellent condition with only light normal wear from carry & use. No dents or dings.... Back has a handsome engraved monogram. I can provide the name of the original owner to the high bidder if they would like. Watch measure's 47mm. This is larger than your conventional 12s watch. Inner dust cover has your Hamilton markings. Case is marked 14k on both covers. Triple hinge case, all covers open 90 degrees, are tight & close with a snap.   Super clean 920 12s movement is stem wind & stem set. Movement is keeping excellent time. Remember, I just had this watch serviced!! Just a few close ups to show you how nice this movement really is. Watch has not been abused.  Take a good look at these photos. All gold enamel lettering is present. This high grade movement has a White gold finish; 23 extra fine ruby and sapphire jewels in gold settings; Patent motor barrel; Gold train; Steel escape wheel; Double roller escapement; Sapphire pallets; Micrometric regulator; Breguet hairspring; Compensation balance; Adjusted to temperature, insochronism, and five positions. Serial number 1766015 dates this to 1920. This model represents the top of Hamiltons 12 size line & is not common. A total production of 13,598 units were produced from 1911-1924. Very desirable watch in fantastic condition.  This is a must have for the serious watch collector. Of Special Note: If you are using an older copy of Shugart's book, throw it away & get the 2008 copy. Prices are considerably higher, as much as $1000! You really don't want to miss out on these watches by underbidding using an old book & regretting in later, which you will, because you will not find nicer examples of these railroad watches, period.             What else can I say? These will be the nicest examples of pocket watches you will find on Ebay or the internet.
