Description
Here is a beautiful ladies pocketwatch, a Hampden. It is in excellent condition and we have done nothing to restore it. The watch runs just fine, but I haven't attempted to calibrate it so can't guarantee whether it runs a bit slow or a bit fast. This watch is gold-plated or gold-filled.... not solid gold.I looked up the serial number on an online interactive website and found that this watch seems to be a size 3/0, 7 jewel, produced in 1913. I love the beautiful engraving. Do you see that tiny hole with a bit of metal sticking out just below and to the right of the second hand dial? That bit of metal is a little lever. When you want to adjust the hours and minutes, you pull out the lever and then the winding mechanism can be used to adjust the time. When you set it to where you want, you push the lever back. Different. Here we see a bit on the bottom of the case where there is no plating and the brass underneath the gold can be seen clearly. Questions Please email me with the Ebay mail forwarding system if you have any questions.Retracting Your Bid- If you made a bidding error and wish to retract the bid, please do not email me and ask me to correct your error for you. It is very easy to retract bids on your own through eBay. I recommend having the item number copied prior to going to that site. ReservesIf you would like to request my reserve price, don't email me, but please take a moment to read my thoughts on Reserves and Bidding first. Terms and Conditions- Please read the paragraphs below to be clear on my reasonable policies and terms of auctions. I will abide by them whether you read them or not, and will consider your bid on this item as your agreement to my terms. That means that if you want me to deviate on my terms for refunds and returns and haven’t read or followed my policies as clearly outline in the link, then I will not make special accommodations. RETURNS and REFUNDS- I do guarantee that this item is in the condition as stated in the description, including photos. I aim to please and do my best to be flexible with winning bidders. Please read my policy on Returns and Refunds first.FRAUD- Please note that as wonderful as eBay is, occasionally someone registers who intends to defraud the seller or buyer. Some geographical locations are notorious for considerable fraudulent attempts. Although I prefer to make my auction items available throughout the world without restriction, I will not put myself at unnecessary risk. If I suspect that a bidder is acting in a suspicious or fraudulent manner I will take whatever actions I need to protect my interests. This may mean that I will cancel a bid and/or report the bidder to eBay. Please check out the following websites for helpful information on eBay fraud - 13 red flags for buyers first. 10 red flags for sellers. SHIPPING- I will ship to any of the contiguous 48 US states for $5 including insurance. Shipping to other locations will depend on the destination. $7.55 to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, $70 to all other locations worldwide. I do my best to find the most economical means of shipping. Shipping expenses are not limited to merely the cost of postage, but also includes modest amounts for packing materials and handling. When packing an item for shipping I am very careful to pack it the way I'd like to have my purchases packed. Generally, it takes great effort on the part of the carrier to damage items I have packed. What if it doesn’t arrive timely?- I often use the USPS for small packages and will track the package or insure it or both. When an item is insured, the USPS requires your signature before delivering. If you aren’t there when they attempt delivery they will leave a salmon colored form behind to notify you. This form is important…. Don’t lose it. Sometimes, buyers have waited a long time for something to show up and then start demanding that I follow up with the Post Office, or they will initiate action through paypal. Often, the item is sitting at their post office waiting for them to claim it. But by then, they have already made the whole process unnecessarily complicated by dragging PayPal into it. If your package has not shown up timely CHECK WITH YOUR POST OFFICE BEFORE TAKING OTHER ACTION! This should save all of us some grief. PAYPAL and other PAYMENT issues- I prefer payment via cashier’s check, postal money order, bank wire transfer, COD, and even personal check. However, I DO accept Paypal, with certain restrictions, unless specifically announced otherwise. I accept payment for paypal drawn on US registered accounts that have confirmed addresses. I will ONLY ship to the confirmed address. NO EXCEPTIONS! I ship after the payment has actually shown up in the mail or in my account. Paypal is convenient, but if you have low feedback, or sporadic activity, please don’t think that payment via this service will result in immediate shipping. I will NOT ship to an address other than the one with which you are registered on paypal. Buyers are responsible for use or sales taxes as determined by the local governing authority.- Paypal payments drawn on banks outside the US are not accepted, thanks to some trouble I've had with some difficult people out of the country. I WILL make exceptions on a case by case basis. But, to pay via paypal from an international location, you will need to have an active ebay account, recent feedback, and I will scan your recent feedback to see if you have been giving sellers a hard time.- Wire transfers. I do accept them, but have noticed in recent times that SOMEONE is taking $15 - $25 out of such payments, and MY bank does not assess a fee, so it is someone at the other end. If you want to send a wire transfer, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that the amount transferred to MY account is the amount of the invoice. This may mean that you'll have to pay some sort of fee on your end. BE SURE TO ASK YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION if the recipient will actually get the amount you are trying to send. This is important.FEEDBACK RULESEbay has recently made wide-spead changes to the feedback calculations. In particular, Sellers can no longer give negative feedback, nor even neutral. At the same time, buyers can leave negatives. Worse, unscrupulous buyers can inspect purchases with a microscope, claim that the item differes 'substantially' from the description, and then threaten the seller with negative feedback if they don't get a nice full or partial refund. And why not? They KNOW that the seller has no real recourse. It's happened to me, I'm sad to say. Such people are bullies. In my world, a bully is a terrorist, just on a different level of magnitude. There is no point in negotiating with a terrorist and I don't. Bad buyers are blocked from bidding on my auctions..... pretty much forever. I can't leave feedback unless it is 'positive.' But I can tell the truth in 80 characters or less, and that's what I do.Attorneys I hate sounding like an attorney, but experience has taught me the importance of being clear and up front with the wonderful bidders from eBay. Thanks for taking the time to check this out.
