Fine pocket watches are a a special interest of the company. This is a new pocket watch from the high-end Premium Collection. It has a solid stainless steel case and a mechanical wind-up movement. The detailing and finishes are superb. Please click on the photos to bring up enlarged images. The top photo shows model 3553T with 14K Gold Plated lid and mineral glass see-through window. The bottom photo shows model 355W which is the same watch without the gold plating. The cover has a classic etched design with mineral glass window that lets you tell time with the lid closed. It pops open to reveal a white dial with Arabic numerals and black hands. There is a day vs. night function and you can see part of the 17 jewel old-fashioned mechanical mechanism. Most pocket watches are plated brass. An all stainless steel watch is much more durable. The metal is much harder so it isn't going to dent, and the hinge is stronger so the lid isn't so likely to get sprung. The plain version has no plating to wear off. The watch comes with a heavy chain that is much nicer than the usual pocket watch chain.
