Description
SquareTrade © AP6.0 PATEK PHILIPPE 5004 R 18K SPLIT SECOND CHRONOGRAPH PERPETUAL Owning this watch is a lot like kissing Scarlett Johansson, everyone wants to do it, but only a very few get the pleasure (and I bet Scarlett's kisses are more abundant than a rose gold 5004 with a black dial!). Both will make you (or me, anyway) weak in the knees, but the 5004 will last forever. The 5004 in 18k rose gold with the black dial is truly a rare timepiece, and an absolutely striking watch to see and wear. Taking nothing away from our photographer's skill and artistry, even our high resolution pictures do not do this watch the justice is demands. The Patek Philippe reference 5004 features a split seconds chronograph (also known as rattrapante or double chronograph) paired with a perpetual calendar and moonphase complication. These are two of the most prestigious complications that a watch can have, but building on that, the 5004 achieves a rare gestalt, where the sum of the parts exceeds the individual components. The watch case is just perfect in its lines and massive proportions. Patek's rose gold is so rich and warm, and the black dial with applied arabic numerals is just gorgeous. No wonder this is one of Patek Philippe's most treasured watches. Case is solid 18k rose gold and is 37mm in diameter and 15mm thick. Front and display back sapphire crystals. Chronograph split seconds button is embedded in the winding crown. Pump style chronograph pushers. Case is extremely clean and crisp, and the 4 hallmarks (one on the outside of each lug) are as sharp and crisp as the day they were stamped into the gold. Dial is black with applied golden arabic numerals and leaf style hands. White printed minutes and seconds chapter and subsidiary dial scales. The day and month are shown in the apertures below 12 o'clock; the 3 o'clock subdial displays the leap year cycle and chronograph 30 minute totalizer; 6 o'clock subdial displays the moonphase and date; 9 o'clock subdial displays constant seconds and 24 hour time. Movement is the manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber CHR 27-70Q with 28 jewels, 10 bridges, Gyromax balance, beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, 60 hour power reserve, Breguet balance spring and 407 individual parts. This movement is stamped with the Geneva Seal. Watch is in 99% new condition on a black hand sewn Patek Philippe crocodile strap with 18k rose gold Patek deployant clasp. Watch is complete with box, papers, second back and setting stylus.
