The Stem Wound and  Set ELGIN Signed Movement,  Serial No.15262850  is beautifully crisp and clean. The movement is running with a FULL, sweet action and is keeping very good time. The  double hinges are solid as is the stem with the Bow and the crown/winder operating exactly as it should. The Clear White Elgin Dial is in excellent condition being completely free from Hairlines or cracks on the main dial.The sunk subsidiary seconds dial has black seconds chapters and a blued steel  seconds baton. The main hands are the exceptionally elegant  Slim Spade Style in Blued Steel which point to Flowing Elegant Classical Black Roman Numeral Hour Chapters . This exceptional  Dial is signed by  Elgin and protected by a mineral glass crystal.  The 50mm/2inches highly ornate 14KT Gold Filled  Full Hunter Case is in the Most Excellent condition. All 3 covers open to  90degrees then close crisply and firmly.  The front cover has an exquisite and stately  monogrammed cartouche which is unobtrusive and compliments the Highly Ornate front cover The rear cover is almost identical -Shimmering Gold edging on both covers  finishes this perfect design and gives a beautiful feel to the timepiece. Depress the Crown and the Front Cover flies open to 90 degrees and stays firmly there, press the crown again and close the front cover where it will stay firmly. This shows that the spring and catch are operating perfectly when using the crown/winder. You should always depress the crown when closing the front cover as this will save wear to the Gold on the cover.This is indeed a very Handsome Edwardian Pocket Timepiece which has been looked after and loved all of  the past century she will easily run for at least another century if you cherish and love her- in fact there is no reason why she should not outlast all of your generations with due care and attention.
