The watch chain is composed of alternating textured and smooth finish gold links. This watch chain has no slide mechanism, it probably never did, but one could easily be added if so desired. The watch chain is marked on the clasp with 14K and with the maker’s mark for Carter, Gough & Company. We have tested the chain and the clasp with nitric acid and guarantee everything to be 14K gold. The condition is excellent. The swivel clasp on the end is working well. There are no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The watch chain is 51 inches long. The weight is 18.9 grams.
