The  gilt case measures 55 m.m.  there is no engraveing on the back of the case. it has the case markers mark T. G. and is in first class condition. All the hinges and clips work well on the cases. The dial is in very good clean condition with no damage round the winding hole, I have only seen one other like this with a winding hole at the 12 o'clock position before,   Roman numerals for the hours and divisions for the minutes. with very fine gold  hands.  The glass is very high domed bull nose clean and clear.   The gilt movement has an interesting and well engraved cock, with a diamond end stone, and very fine round pillars and a regulator. it is currently running very well and keeping better than good verge time variation of only c half a minute per hour. It just goes to show what a very good watchmaker Septimus Miles was to have made this fine watch and to run so well after all these years.  It runs to the full length of the chain.The movement is signed Sep't Miles Ludgate Street  London, and the number 3264 The watch has just been serviced,  the watch maker   SEPTIMUS MILES  is a very important maker and well listed in G.H.Baillie's and Brian Loomes " Watchmakers and Clock makers of the World "  the watch has a very strong tick. it will come with a nice old key. Wonderful to have such a well priced watch with a number of very unusual features.
