The case is hallmarked for London, 1873/4, initials 'S.F' and numbered '34382' as per the movement. The inner cover is etched with the signature of 'Joseph Lister 1873' and 'JL' appears in the cartouche on the rear cover (could this be the well known surgeon of that name, founder of the antiseptic method in surgery lived 1827-1912 !!). The case is 50mm overall diameter, ignoring the stem. The enamel dial has a couple of short faint hairlines. The glass crystal is cracked. The jewelled fusee/lever movement is not working, hence sold for spares/repair. The fusee chain is missing and the balance wheel is loose. The movement is signed 'J. Maule, Skipton' and numbered '34382'. The movement is key wind and set.     Place a Bid!
