Serial number 541159.  It is so scarce that it carries “3” stars in Shugart’s price guide. It has a near flawless South Bend signed double-sunk dial with bold Arabic numerals. There is one very faint hairline just beneath the center pipe, which cannot be seen without a loupe. The hands are excellent and still have 95% of their deep factory blue color. There is a tiny spot of color-loss on the hour hand. It is housed in an exceptionally nice Keystone gold-filled hunt case. The front opens on a stiff hinge to a degree past 90. The back opens on a stiff hinge also, to several degrees shy of 90. There is no wear whatsoever to the case and it is completely ding-free. The bow and crown are “excellent” also. The cuvette is engraved as a presentation from a wife to her husband on Nov. 15, 1902. The nickel movement is as close to “mint” as you will find. It has gold lettering with swirl and checkerboard damaskeening.  It runs well.      What you see is exactly what you will receive if you win this auction.
