Some require a clean/overhaul, others a battery and some a cosmetic or mechanical repair. Truly stunning, original antique solid gold and enamel half-hunter pocket watch of typically heavy English construction. Wonderful original condition with mint white enamel dial and fine, fire-gilt, pendant-wind English, 3/4-plate lever movement. Superb case with only light surface scratches. Fully stamped with the Birmingham 9ct gold hallmarks for 1937 and the case maker's mark R&S. Original gold pendant and bow. Mint winder. The front cover still opens perfectly to the vertical. The front blue enamel chapter ring is still entire with no damages. Both acrylic crystals are still present. Original blue-steel 'half-hunter' hands with subsidiary seconds. Currently not in running order but would obviously benefit from a clean/service. There appear to be no mechanical faults, as such, since the balance staff and wheel are in order and the lever locks and unlocks as it should. The mainspring is also intact. The hairspring is perhaps gummed up or requires adjustment. Measures 51 mm diameter, excluding pendant and bow. Postage And Payment UK postage £6.50 insured next-day special delivery.
