ITEM: Up for auction is a Fine and Rare c1770 Irish Dublin Pair Case Sterling Silver Verge Fusee Pocket Watch. The Pocket Watch is part of a Large Collection of Watches and other Fine Quality Estate items up for auction this week, as you can see in the last picture. The Watches and other items listed are part of my Parents Estate, and my Fathers Watch Collection. I do not know a great deal about many of the pieces, buy do believe there are some Fine and Rare examples listed. The Pocket Watch is one of the finest period examples we have seen. I am sure being an Irish example of this age, it is also an Exceptionally Rare find. The Pocket Watch also winds and runs nicely keeping good time. The Pocket Watch also comes with a winding key as you can see. The Pocket Watches Inner and Outer Pair Cases have also never been monogrammed which is nice. The Inner Case also has a nice slide Door for the Keyhole, a sign of the Great Quality of the Watch. The Case is in Very Fine original condition with no dints, cracks, or repairs. The Case Hinges and nice and Strong and Quality made with no damage, and the Cases open and close perfectly. The only mark I can see on the Cases is on the inner case having the makers mark "O over A.N", I believe for the Irish Period Silversmith Arthur.O'Neil. Both Cases do test to be solid sterling silver, and I am positive they are original to each other. The outer case also has some nice period Dublin Watch makers paper labels. The Movement is Finely and Ornately Hand Made throughout with Amazingly Fine Pierced details. The Movement also features a Tompion Regulator, and Egyptian Pillars. The Movement is marked "Shaun.Houston, Dublin, No.111". The Original Hand Painted Porcelain Enamel Dial is also in Very Fine original condition showing very little to no wear throughout, no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Original Hands are in place, and also in excellent condition. The Pocket Watch also has its original Bullseye Crystal also in fine condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.  The Pocket Watch measures by itself 40mm's wide, and with its Pair Case 46mm's wide, by 24mm's thick.         I have no idea what any of the Watches listed would be worth. I do know it may be some time before you see another Irish Verge Fusee example of this Age and Quality come up for auction, and in fine working order, and with No Reserve! As usual we just start all our items off low, and will let you decide.
