The back of the watch has beautiful engravings (see pictures). The diameter of the watch is 2-1/2". It's 1-1/4" in diameter for the little dial. It has the feature of quarter repeater and sexy movement on the back. Once you press the button on the top, the watch strikes the current quarter and hour. Here comes the interesting part. While the watch strikes, one figure on the dial will rise the hammer and hits the bell for the number of quarter, then the other figure would hit the bell again to present the number of the hour. To mark the value of this rare pocket watch even higher, it comes with a fusses chain driven movement. It is a cylinder escapement (which is often used in 1820 – 1850) in French or Swiss watches. No maker name is found. The watch case is stamped with several markings and it has recently been expertly polished and is in excellent condition. It's very difficult to find this one in a pocket watch. This watch is in mint working order, so please bid with confidence. It's a must have for watch collectors.
